CP Effiong who made the call during an interactive session with youth groups, under the platform of Rivers State Youth Leaders Coalition in the state, also charged them to ensure that the 2023 general elections are peaceful in the state.
The CP appealed to the youths to work closely with the police, especially before, during and after the general elections, as he advised them to resist being used as thugs by desperate politicians.
CP Okon Effiong, while warning that the 2023 general elections must be violence free, also cautioned politicians to allow opposition parties to campaign freely.
The Chairman of the Rivers State Youth Leaders Coalition, Legborsi Yamabana who spoke on behalf of the youth groups said it is the vision of the youths to see Rivers State to be peaceful before, during and after general elections.
Today FM’s Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that youth groups under the platform of Rivers State Youth Leaders Coalition, were present in the meeting which held at the Police officers Mess, forces Avenue, GRA Port Harcourt.
