The Rivers State Civil Society Organisations (RIVCSO) says it will challenge the outcome of last Saturday’s local government elections in court.
In a statement, the group’s chairman, Enefa Georgewill, described the exercise as a “clear rejection by the people.”
He argued that with no opposition participation and the absence of key electoral materials such as the BVAS, the exercise could not be regarded as a genuine election.
Georgewill, however, commended residents of Rivers State for showing maturity by refusing to resort to violence despite what he called their deliberate non-participation in the process.
