The Bill is for a law to amend the Rivers State college of Health Science and Management Technology law of 2019.
The Bill amended section fifty six, sub section C of the Principal Law and restricted the categories of persons to be appointed as Provost of the College to only those with requisite academic qualifications of a doctoral degree in health sciences and allied professions.
The Speaker of the House, Martins Amaehule, shortly after a debate on the Bill, said the amendment aims to encourage professionalism, expertise, efficiency and academic excellence.
