Rivers APC ward executives condemn sponsored distractions

The APC elected Ward Chairmen in a communique issued at the end of a forum in Port Harcourt, said they view the distractions and court cases as a ploy to withdraw and or canvass for the withdrawal of the cases at the Election Petitions Tribunal and selling off the party to the People’s Democratic Party.

The Chairman of all the APC Ward Chairmen in the state, Ekpumogu Lucky-Joshua who read out the communique said those who ran to court should have known the end point of the matter between one George Orlu and four others, and INEC and APC and the Appeal court’s decision in a lead judgement delivered by Justice Mohammed Lawal Shuaibu who frowned at party members rushing to court without first exhausting the party’s internal mechanisms.

Lucky-Joshua maintained that the Ward Chairmen, re-affirmed their loyalty and support to the leader of the APC in Rivers State, former Transport Minister and former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi and as well adopt and endorse the Vote of Confidence passed by the Ward three Executives of APC in Emohua area on Chief Emeka Beke.

The forum while also endorsing the position of their colleague in Wards ten in Tai, twelve and fifteen in Obio-Akpor, nineteen in Port Harcourt City, nine in Ahoada West, three in Eleme, nine in Okrika, eight in Omuma, who invoked the relevant sections of the Constitution of the party to enforce discipline against erring members and uphold the Supremacy of the party, also called on all Ward Executives across the state to ensure the protection of the Constitution.

Today FM’s correspondent reports that while the coordinators of APC Ward Chairmen commended the courage and tenacity of all the party candidates who have approached the Tribunal to seek redress over the INEC stage-managed process in the name of elections in Rivers State, equally affirmed their support on the relocation of the Election Petitions Tribunal out of Rivers State which they claimed will ensure the safety of their candidates, witnesses, lawyers and even the judges.
