The Rivers State House of Assembly Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress has dismissed as false a purported list of cleared and uncleared aspirants currently circulating across various media platforms.
In a statement issued by the Secretary of the Screening Committee for Rivers State, Tanko Yamowa, the committee described the publication as unauthorized and not originating from the appropriate party authorities.
The statement explained that the screening exercise conducted by the committee headed by Mauriana Ajibola was concluded less than 24 hours ago, adding that no official list has been released by the party.
It further stated that the APC remains guided by established procedures, rules, and timelines in the publication of screening results and related information.
According to the committee, any official communication regarding the status of aspirants will be made available through the appropriate channels at the right time.
The committee therefore urged party faithful, aspirants, supporters, and the general public to disregard the circulating list, describing it as the handiwork of mischief makers seeking to create confusion and unnecessary tension within the party.
It reaffirmed the party’s commitment to transparency, fairness, and due process throughout the screening exercise.
