In a statement in reaction to the latest loan tranche of nine billion naira; the Rivers APC alleged that the money would be used for the concluding rerun legislative elections on 30th July.
The APC State Chairman, DAVIES IBIAMU IKANYA described the loan approval by the Rivers State House of Assembly as unconscionable and wicked.
He said the action by the State Government accentuates the level of feverish desperation by the PDP government because of the prospect of its candidates losing in the rerun elections, especially in the Rivers South-East axis.
The State Chairman of the APC called on the State Commissioner of Police, the Inspector-General of Police, and the heads of other security agencies to step in to halt another killing spree before, during and after the forthcoming rerun elections.
He said the APC was convinced that the recent changes in the nation’s security apparatus would prevent a repeat of the orgy of killings in Rivers State, especially during the forthcoming rerun elections.
