Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Rivers State, Professor ZACCHEUS ADANGOR said that the Mobil Staff were released without charges.
The Attorney-General said the State Government will no longer press charges against them, adding that they were released following interventions by well-meaning Nigerians.
The Attorney-General of Rivers State noted that he monitored the release of the twenty-two Exxon Mobil at the State Isolation Centre at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt.
He noted that the Rivers State Government remains committed to implementing the Executive Order issued to check the spread of coronavirus.
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN had directed its members to stop operations at all export facilities and suspend production and maintenance services.
PENGASSAN also directed its members to withdraw all forms of services relating to crude oil production, refining, distribution and supplies from 12noon today.
The directives are contained in a letter by the National President of PENGASSAN, Nduaka Ohaeri circulated in the media.
Copied in the letter were the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, the NNPC GMD, Inspector-General of Police, DSS, Department of Petroleum Resources and International Oil Companies.
