Residents laments poor construction work on Mbiama-Okarki road in Ahaoda-West

In a special report last year, we had brought to you a report about the dilapidated state of the road where Engenni people lamented the poor state of the road and its negative impact on the economy and livelihood of the people.

One year after that report, the people of Engenni in an interview with correspondent Sandra Kenneth, said though the Rivers State government intervened in rehabilitating the road, the quality of work is seemingly low.

Also speaking, the King of Engenni kingdom, King Macleen Moore who appreciated efforts of the government to develop their area, pleaded for the construction to be extended to its full length of twenty-five kilometres; covering all communities in Engenni, rather than the nine kilometres being constructed that terminates at Okarki.

But an Engineer at the construction site, Francis Jonathan said some parts of the road are undergoing rehabilitation while other areas are undergoing total reconstruction.
