Two hundred and seventy six people voted in support of the bill which did not pass in the Senate.
Meanwhile; the House of Representatives has rejected the constitutional amendment that seeks to confer life pension on Senate President, Speaker and their Deputies.
The bill failed to get the required two hundred and forty votes as provided in the 1999 constitution as amended.
The bill got one hundred and ninety three ‘votes, while one hundred and sixty two lawmakers voted against the bill.
