The law reforms are being handled by a committee of eminent jurors and senior advocates of Nigeria, with a mandate to clean up the statutes and bring them up to date in addressing existing realities.
This was made known by the Speaker, YAKUBU DOGARA, when he received executive members of Abuja Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association in his office at the National Assembly.
DOGARA said the eighty-three bills include the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Bill, which is intended to create additional fields of legal practice for Nigerian lawyers.
The House of Representatives Speaker called of the NBA to step up advocacy to ensure that the Bill scales through at the Senate.
