The move by the Federal Lawmaker in the lower chamber of the National Assembly is as a result of growing allegations of rights abuses and acts of impunity against the DSS.
Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that the House unanimously adopted a motion highlighting alleged disobedience of court rulings by the DSS.
The investigation is being conducted by a Joint Committee on Police, Human Rights, National Security and Justice.
The House mentioned the case involving former National Security Adviser, SAMBO DASUKI, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, NNAMDI KANU and the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IBRAHIM EL-ZAKZAKY, as classical examples of DSS disregard for rule of law.
