Reps ask Police, DSS to clamp down on fuel stations selling above regulated price

The lawmakers asked NNPC Limited to end the artificial scarcity within the next week.

These resolutions followed a motion of urgent public importance moved by Saidu Abdulahi during today’s plenary session.

The lawmaker said intelligence at the disposal of the government shows the shortage is a result of deliberate sabotage by some elements, adding that some fuel stations sell for as high as N300 per litre in some states.

The House also mandated its Committees on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) and Legislative Compliance to ensure compliance with the resolution.
