Doctor BANIGO made the call against the backdrop of reports of Lassa fever outbreak in Lagos, stressing that the Rivers State Government was ready to contain any threat.
According to a statement from the Government House in Port Harcourt, the Deputy Governor said the State Ministry of Health has been provided with the needed support to contain any outbreak of the disease.
She emphasised that individuals must enhance the personal hygiene because the Lassa fever virus is is attracted to filthy environments.
Doctor HARRY BANIGO also cautioned against self medication because of the similarity of Lassa fever symptoms with other diseases.
