Speaking with our Correspondent, CHIEMEKA ADINDU, some online media experts and bloggers said the menace of fake news has continued to paralyse the economic growth of the country.
The respondents believe that the menace is due to lack of adequate regulations to checkmate the activities on social media.
They however called on the government to put in adequate measures to regulate the social but ensure it does not affect the freedom of information rights of the citizens.
Some of the respondents also called on Nigerian to join in the fight against fake news in the country.
The Minister of Information and Culture, LAI MOHAMMED had in October 2018 partnered with Facebook in launching a campaign against fake news before revealing his intention of bringing a social media regulatory law on Monday.
