Our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA reports that the State House of Assembly made the call on INEC when it adopted a motion moved by the Leader, MARTINS AMAEWHULE.
The state lawmaker said the refusal by the electoral body to conduct the remaining rerun elections in the state was a rip-off on Rivers people.
Other lawmakers who made contributions, urged the State Government to refer INEC to the Economic and Financial Commission over what they described as political corruption.
The Speaker, DABOTORUDIMA ADAMS observed that INEC had failed in its responsibility to conduct elections.
He said the issue of insecurity used by INEC as an excuse was not enough ground to deny the people of Rivers State of effective legislative representation at the state and national levels.
Our correspondent reports that the Rivers State House of Assembly also considered a motion calling on the National Assembly to investigate the killing of a professional footballer, IZU JOSEPH by soldiers deployed in the state.
