‘Recession demands that the country engages in more production activities’-Obasanjo

Chief OBASANJO made the call at a public forum on investments, trade and industries, which was held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The former President emphasized that farming and trading should be encouraged at the rural communities to enable the people meet their needs and contribute to the economy.

He also called on government to provide the necessary infrastructure to support trade and locally and on the global stage.

Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor YEMI OSINBAJO was also in attendance at the meeting of the National Council on Industries, Trade and Investments.

Professor OSINBAJO used the opportunity to throw light on what the Federal Government was doing on the diversification of the economy and to check recession in the system.
