Agala, who spoke to mark the end of the breast cancer awareness month, stated that out of every one hundred breast cancer diagnosed, one is a man.
She reiterated the need for women and men to self-examine their selves for breast cancer every month, noting that early detection is very important.
Agala who is the Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association, Rivers State, also advised women from age thirty five to begin their mammogram, which is an X-ray picture of the breast.
Today FM’s Ifunanya Obeme-Ndukwe reports that breast cancer awareness month is commemorated annually, from October 1 to October 30 and the focus for this year is prevention and early detection.
