Private Universities are poaching our scholars says ASUU

Speaking on a television programme monitored from Port Harcourt, the National Chairman of ASUU, professor Abiodun Ogunyemi said the 2013 memorandum of understanding was founded on the report of needs assessment of Nigerian universities, as he said education is a catalyst to every other sectors in the country.

 

 

Professor Ogunyemi said the federal government has only made promises and has failed to translate their commitment into investment, adding that only education can make the country grow. 

 

 

 

 

Professor Abiodun said comments by the Minister of Labor and Employment, Chris Ngige, is a calculated attempt to slow down the process, as he alleged that within the past two months, 25 scholars have been poached by a private university in the North-East.
