A market survey by our correspondent PRECIOUS NWAOKU indicates that the most affected items are frozen foods and rice.
Some traders revealed that some food items can no longer be found in markets across the country including Lagos, the economic hub of Nigeria.
The respondents however expressed fears that the current trend will have adverse effect on Nigerians as the yuletide season approaches.
The Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents had said over five hundred trucks loaded with perishable goods were stranded at Seme following the partial closure of the border.

The exercise commenced on August 19 and was being jointly conducted by the customs, immigration, police and military personnel and coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser.
