Some rice farmers gave the indication while speaking with Today FM’s Sandra Kenneth.
The Rivers state chairman of Rice farmers Association of Nigeria, Akandu Godwin lamented that the high level of neglect of rice farmers by government is making production more difficult for them.
Godiwn called on the government to support the farmers in the acquisition of equipment for rice farming.
Also speaking, the state Chairman of rice millers Association, Oshimini Michael said they go as far as Bayelsa or Ebonyi states to mill their products which increases the cost of production.
