President MUHAMMADU BUHARI is scheduled to swear-in the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission today. The swearing in ceremony for Professor MAHMOOD YAKUBU was scheduled following his confirmation by the Senate. Also to be sworn-in by the President are five national commissioners of INEC whose appointments were also confirmed by the Senate. The INEC national commissioners are AMINA ZAKIRI, SOLOMON SOYEBI, Professor ANTONIA OKOOSI-SIMBINE, Doctor MUHAMMED MUSTAFA and Alhaji BABA ARFO. After today’s ceremony, President BUHARI will on Wednesday swear-in his thirty-six ministers members whose appointments were confirmed by the Senate. The ceremony will also mark the inauguration of the Federal Executive Council under the APC Administration of President MUHAMMADU BUHARI. It may interest you to note that President BUHARI has before now been solely managing the affairs of the federal government, except for a few personal aid, and relying mainly on permanent secretaries in the federal ministries.
