President BUHARI made the call in his address to world leaders at the UN General Assembly in New York.
The Nigerian leader said the consideration of an African country for permanent membership of the Security Council would ensure equitable and fair representation, as well as greater transparency in the decision making of the UN.
BUHARI particularly said Nigeria was ready to serve Africa and the world on a reformed Security Council to advance international peace and security.
President MUHAMMADU BUHARI also advocated the establishment of a United Nations Agency for Youth, which he said would help to achieve the strategic objective of harnessing the potentials of young people for growth.
That was Nigeria’s President, MUHAMMADU BUHARI.
