BABACHIR LAWAL is being investigated over corruption allegations in the award of contracts by the Presidential Initiative for the North-East while AYO OKE is to answer questions in connection to the sum of thirteen billion naira in both local and foreign currencies, which was recovered from a luxury apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos.
LAWAL and OKE have been invited to appear today before the investigation panel headed by Vice President YEMI OSINBAJO, with the Minister of Justice, ABUBAKAR MALAMI, and the National Security Adviser, BABAGANA MONGUNO, as members.
The suspended officials are to appear before the panel alongside some top officials in their various departments, who have also been summoned by the panel.
It was gathered over the weekend that the panel also disclosed that it would be conducting its assignment behind closed-doors.
