Upon completion; the Mambilla Hydro-power project has the capacity to generate three thousand and fifty megawatts of electricity.
Economic Confidential reports that the project was first valued at three point two billion dollars before it was later upgraded to six billion dollars, and later abandoned by the past administration.
The report said the road leading to the site of the project at Barup has been damaged by a massive landslide.
It said a team of foreign engineers accompanied by government officials who were on a mission to reach the project site, were forced to return because of the difficult access road.
The development is being seen as a setback on efforts by the present government, through the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, BABATUNDE FASHOLA, to ensure completion of the project.
