The prosecution counsel, CHIDI EKE made the presentation when one of the police investigative team leaders, Sergeant OGBOMUDIA EMGBOKURO appeared in the witness box.
Upon cross-examination, EMGBOKURO told the court that GRACIOUS DAVID-WEST took police investigative team round the hotels where he had committed the crime without the assistance of the hotel management.
The Senior Police Officer also told the court that in the course of their investigation, it was revealed that the suspect used the same pattern of tying his victim’s legs and hands against their back with a white piece of cloth and also used a kitchen knife to threaten all the victims to enable him to retrieve their ATM and withdrew money from their bank accounts.
EMGBOKURO said DAVID-WEST locked all his victims in each of the hotels where he committed the crime and went away with the room keys after collecting their valuables including money, handbags, Jewelleries.
The Police Sergeant also informed the court that two dead bodies were found inside a hotel room in Bendel street where the second suspect, NIMI THANKGOD who is the manager of the hotel was given money to report the matter to the nearest police station but never did and instead disposed of the deceased along Aggrey road.
Our correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that the trial Judge, Justice ADOLPHUS ENEBELI after admitting as exhibits some document containing the death certificates and pictures of some of the victims of DAVID-WEST; presented by the prosecution counsel adjourned till 17th January for continuation.
