This is the second time Justice EKWO is issuing the directive after an interim order on the 23rd of October directing parties in the suit challenging the recruitment to stay any action.
The Court held that this was necessary since parties had submitted themselves to court for settlement of the matter after Counsel to the Police Service Commission, BARTH OGAR, told Justice EKWO that in spite of the court’s initial order, the IGP continued with the recruitment exercise.
But Counsel to the Police I.G, ALEX IZINYON, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria threatened to withdraw from the suit, saying that the recruitment exercise had reached a certain stage.
The Police Service Commission had in September filed for an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants from appointing, recruiting or attempting to appoint or recruit by any means whatsoever any person into any office by the NPF pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.
