Police Arrest Alleged Fake Presidential Council DG in Osun

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-proclaimed Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), in Osun State.

The arrest followed a bench warrant issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja over allegations linked to the operation of the purported council, which authorities say is not a recognised government agency.

Adeyemi is accused of presenting himself as the head of the alleged organisation and is expected to be arraigned before the Federal High Court in Abuja on charges related to the case. Police authorities have yet to release full details of the allegations or the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

The controversy surrounding the alleged fake council has drawn national attention in recent weeks after the Presidency publicly distanced itself from the organisation, describing it as fictitious. Officials also denied authorising its operations following claims that forged government documents and signatures were used in its activities.
