The Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, says agriculture, education and healthcare will be the core priorities of his administration if elected president in the 2027 general elections.
Obi stated this at a town hall meeting in Port Harcourt, where he said Nigeria has vast agricultural potential capable of generating significantly more revenue for the country than crude oil.
He accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, administration of pushing millions of Nigerians deeper into poverty.
The NDC presidential candidate also urged Nigerians not to vote for candidates who fail to directly engage with them, solicit their support and clearly present their plans ahead of the 2027 elections.
In his remarks, the National Chairman of the NDC, Senator Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, lamented the state of the nation, saying key sectors of the country were currently failing.
Zuwoghe said the NDC was on a mission to rescue Nigeria through the joint ticket of Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Earlier, the Rivers State Governorship Candidate of the NDC, Dumo Lulu-Briggs, described the 2027 elections as a defining moment for the future of the country.
Lulu-Briggs urged Nigerians not only to participate in the elections but also to ensure that their votes are protected.
The town hall meeting was attended by the party’s Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, alongside national and state executive members and some NDC candidates for the National and State Assembly seats.
