TikTok is rolling out a new voice-comment feature that allows users to respond to videos with their voices instead of typing.
The feature enables users to record audio directly in the comment section by tapping and holding the microphone icon, where available.
TikTok also generates a text transcription of the recorded voice comment, allowing users to either listen to the response or read its text version.
The feature is being introduced gradually and is not yet available to all users, including some in Nigeria.
The development gives TikTok users another way to engage with content and could make comment sections more interactive and conversational.
For creators, voice comments could provide a faster way for followers to share reactions, explanations and personal responses without appearing on camera.
However, the feature could also create additional moderation challenges, particularly around offensive or abusive audio content.
Users who do not yet have access may need to wait for TikTok to expand the rollout to their accounts or region.
