OBI was speaking at The Platform, a programme organized to mark the 59th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria by the Covenant Christian Center in Lagos.
The former Governor said it was unfortunate that the allocation to Education is below one percent of the Gross Domestic Product of the country which is in clear variance with other developing countries of the world.
Also speaking at the forum, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CHARLES SOLUDO said the country must consistently grow its GDP by about seven percent quarterly to be able to take millions of Nigerians out of poverty.
