Members are the Accountant-General of the Federation, the Executive Secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Department, Acting Director-General of the National Pension Commission and the Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation.
The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation have representatives in the Committee.
The job of the committee is to review all pension liabilities of the Federal Government and come up with strategies to offset them.
Performing the inauguration in Abuja, the Finance Minister disclosed that the terms of reference of the Committee also includes to recommend what portion of the pension liabilities can be funded through budgetary appropriations and to suggest creative ways of funding the balance.
KEMI ADEOSUN lamented a situation where pensioners are being owed their entitlements, and promised that the Committee would create a mechanism through for prompt payment of entitlements of pensioners.
