PDP leaders from Northern Nigeria challenge to an open Contest for 2019 Presidential Ticket

Ekiti State Governor, AYODELE FAYOSE threw that challenge as he declared his interest to seek the PDP’s presidential ticket for the next election, which is barely one year and five months ahead.
Speaking at a gathering of party supporters in Abuja, Governor FAYOSE said the time for individuals to be packed into the Presidential Villa in the name of zoning was over.
However; while Governor FAYOSE was making his presidential declaration, operatives of the Economic and Financial Commission, EFCC, stormed the meeting of the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee also in Abuja and arrested two Ekiti State officials.
Those picked up are the Commissioner of Finance and the Accountant General of the Ekiti State Government.
In his reaction; Governor FAYOSE accused the EFCC of acting against a subsisting court order in violation of the rule of law, just as he slammed the APC government at the centre of intolerance of opposition.
