Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party have rejected decisions taken by a committee reportedly backed by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, over party leadership and convention plans. The governors said the committee lacked the constitutional authority to make such decisions.
The disagreement has further deepened the internal crisis within the opposition party, with factions accusing each other of undermining party unity.
The governors called for adherence to the PDP constitution and urged party leaders to resolve disputes through dialogue to prevent further divisions ahead of future elections.
