The Peoples Democratic Party has elected Abdulrahman Mohammed and Samuel Anyanwu as substantive National Chairman and National Secretary. They emerged through consensus alongside 19 other members of the National Working Committee at the party’s 2026 national convention held at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
Prominent party leaders, including Sule Lamido, Bukola Saraki and Ahmed Makarfi, attended the convention. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, said healing in the party had begun and assured members that the PDP would be on the ballot for the 2027 general elections. He added that the future of the party must be built on inclusiveness and equal opportunity for members.
