The criminals behind the act have also sent out fake correspondences to some NDDC contractors and vendors, soliciting gratifications to be deposited into a private bank account.
The suspected criminals allegedly requested a particular NDDC contractor to pay the sum of seven hundred thousand naira into a bank account belong to one JONAFUVWE ONOS.
However; the NDDC Acting Managing Director, IBIM SEMINITARI denies knowledge of the so-called JONAFUVWE ONOS neither does she have any link with the bank account purportedly opened with Diamond Bank.
BEKEE ANYALEWECHI, who is the Special Assistant on Media to the NDDC Boss, disclosed in a statement that a close scrutiny of the fake email reveals that it lacks the characteristics of coherence, quality diction and grammatical fluidity which are common with correspondences originating from IBIM SEMENITARI.
ANYALEWECHI described the hacking of SEMENITARI’s email account and subsequent circulation of fake correspondence as the handiwork of fraudsters who are out to rubbish the reforms the NDDC Acting Managing Director has brought into the organisation.
Following the development; NDDC contractors, vendors and the general public are advised to be mindful of the scam mail and its content.
