Onnoghen tackle allegations of corruption in Judiciary,warns politicians.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice WALTER ONNOGHEN, made the call, just as he warned politicians against using the mass media to smear the image of the judiciary and judicial officers.

 

The position of the Chief Justice of Nigeria was contained in a statement signed by his media assistant, AWASSAM BASSEY.

 

The statement noted that the Chief Justice of Nigeria was reacting to a publication in a national daily over the weekend, in which a female politician claimed that she was robbed of Anambra Central Senatorial District election by the judiciary.

 

Justice ONNOGHEN stressed that Nigerians should learn to take advantage of institutions that have been established to handle allegations of corruption and unprofessional conduct by judicial officers.

 

The statement further noted that the Chief Justice of Nigeria advised Senator UCHE EKWUNIFE to petition the judges she accused of corruption and unprofessional conduct.
