An indigene of Okrika Local Government Area, Charity Fubara, has raised an alarm over alleged threats to her life and the reported unlawful takeover of her property.
She accused a community leader, Chief Tam George, alongside suspected land grabbers, of intimidation and harassment, claiming that they have been issuing threats to her and members of her household.
According to her, the situation escalated when a portion of the disputed land was allegedly sold despite the matter having been reported to the police. She described the development as distressing and called for urgent intervention.
Charity Fubara has appealed to the Rivers State Government, the Commissioner of Police, and other relevant authorities to come to her aid, stating that her safety and that of her family can no longer be guaranteed.
Efforts to get a response from Chief Tam George were unsuccessful, as he neither answered calls nor responded to messages sent to his mobile phone.
