The aggrieved indigenes of the fourteen communities in Kalabari expressed concern the Government Ekpemupolo popularly called Tompolo did not consult the affected communities hosting the Cawthorne Channel and Akaso Oil Field for the Surveillance contract.
The Secretary of DAA-3 Cluster Development Board, Doctor Sule Amachree who read the position of the people in Ido Community in Asari Toru area said there was not natural justice, equity, fairness and inclusiveness in the distribution of the Surveillance opportunities.
Amachree said the two hundred and fifty chances allocated to the fourteen communities only represent seventeen percent of the Surveillance chances which he described as high level of negligence that would be resisted.
Amachree while warning those already engaged for the job along the affected areas to stop or be ready to face stiff resistance, called on President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Nyesom Wike, local government Chairmen of the areas and other relevant authorities to urgently intervene to avert the looming crises that may arise.
Today FM’s Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that indigenes of the fourteen Kalabari communities along Cawthorne Channel and Akaso Oil Field demanded the total of seven hundred and five working chances for justice and fairness.
