The people under the umbrella of Ogoni people’s Assembly made the threat during a media briefing in Port Harcourt today.

The leader of the group, Williams Pronem who described the UNEP report as a slave report, called for the review of the report and the re-assessment of the over one thousand polluted sites in Ogoni.

He also demanded for the reversal of an alleged plan to make UNEP a consultant for the restoration of the about seventy percent of the polluted site.

On his part, the secretary of the group and an environmental activist Evidence Ekpabari said there is the need for an upward review of the one billion dollars earmarked for the cleanup project.

Today FM’s Chinedu Iwunna reports that group also demanded the implementation of a 60-40 arrangement for allocation of contracts for the cleanup process.
