You will recall that the APC candidate for Rivers South-East, MAGNUS ABE has already turned down his invitation to appear before a committee of the House on a petition against the Nigerian Army.
The Ogoni Generation Next group which is aligned with the Rivers State APC has also condemned the move by the House of Representatives.
The leader of the group, KADILO KABARI claims that the House of Representatives was acting out a script purportedly written by the PDP to discredit Senator MAGNUS ABE.
KABARI, who spoke in an interview with our correspondent in Port Harcourt, also faulted the implementation of the amnesty programme of the Rivers State government.
He wandered why those charged with the implementation of the programme failed to disarm armed cultists and criminals who have been terrorizing inhabitants of Ogoni communities.
However; the PDP in Rivers State is looking at the development differently, and has criticized Senator MAGNUS ABE over his decision to shun the House of Representatives.
Although the petition by the South-South Zone of the Civil Liberties Organisation is against the Nigerian Army, the State PDP Chairman, FELIX OBUAH said Senator ABE’s decision not to respond to the invitation of the Federal lawmakers was an admission of guilt.
OBUAH noted that the Nigerian Army acted at the instance of Ogoni opposition politicians during the raid on suspected criminal hide out in Yeghe community.
