Mailafia died at the age of sixty four.
The family lawyer, Yakubu Bawa who confirmed the news said Mailafia died in the early hours of yesterday in Abuja after a brief illness.
Apart from working with the apex bank, Mailafia who hailed from Kaduna State was the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the 2019 presidential election.
