In an address on the third night of the Democratic convention in Philadelphia, OBAMA praised Clinton as the most qualified person ever to run for the White House.
President OBAMA said voters faced a choice between hope and fear, stressing that the US was full of courage, decent and generous.
However, he expressed concern about racial divisions and the frustration caused by political gridlock.
Vice-President JOE BIDEN also delivered his own spirited address, in which he criticised TRUMP for religious intolerance and for betraying American values.
BIDEN said TRUMP has no clue about what makes America great.
