The Supreme Court ruling is coming seven months after the Guantanamo Bay detainees from Yemen – MAHMUD UMAR MUHAMMAD BIN ATEF and KHALID MUHAMMAD SALIH AL-DHUBY – were transferred to Ghana.
The ruling was given in a case brought by two people who sued the Ghanaian government for illegally accepting to accommodate the Guantanamo detainees.
The Supreme Court ignored the argument by Ghana’s attorney general that releasing details of the agreement could undermine national security.
