The union made its decision to discontinue with the industrial action last night.
Similarly, Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, dropped its planned industrial action over similar complaints in the oil and gas sector.
The association had issued a two-week ultimatum to the government to resolve the issues.
The developments were the outcome of a meeting with officials of Federal Government delegation led by the Minister of Labour and employment, CHRIS NGIGE, and representatives of multinational oil companies in Abuja.
The President of NUPENG, IGWE ACHESE said the union was satisfied with the commitment shown by the federal government.
NUPENG had explained that its decision to embark on the warning strike follows indiscriminate sack of workers without benefits and refusal to allow their workers to join the union.
