Czech tennis star Linda Noskova has won her first Wimbledon title after staging a remarkable comeback to defeat compatriot Karolina Muchova in one of the most dramatic women’s singles finals in the tournament’s history.
The ninth seed appeared headed for heartbreak after squandering five championship points in the second set and breaking down in tears on Centre Court.
However, the 21-year-old regained her composure and produced a resilient display to overcome the setback in a thrilling contest filled with dramatic twists.
Noskova eventually defeated the 10th-seeded Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 to claim her maiden Grand Slam title and first Wimbledon crown.
