The declaration by Professor OSINBAJO was based on progress report on the Special Relief Intervention Plan alongside National Assembly lawmakers from North-East at Aso Rock.
The Acting President declared that there was considerable progress in the implementation of the Special Relief Intervention, which was launched in Maiduguri on 8th June.
He said through the initiative, which is part of a broad plan to address food shortage in the IDP camps and other settlements of displaced persons, was now delivering assorted grains to internally displaced persons.
It may interest you to note that over one thousand trucks are involved in the distribution of assorted grains to displaced families in the North-East.
Some six hundred and fifty-six armed police personnel have also been drafted to provide escort for the movement of grains from various reserves across the country to designated warehouses of the National Emergency Management Agency in the North-East.
Additional one thousand, three hundred and seventy-six military personnel are also on hand to escort the trucks of grains to internally displaced persons in the hinterlands across Borno, Adamawa and Yobe state.
