The leaders said the new group is a part of efforts to tackle the challenges confronting the north-central, particularly the rising security threats in the area.
At the launch of the forum in Abuja, they said the organisation will serve as a non-partisan body with the primary objective of promoting peace and unity in the region.
The forum named a former minister and senator, Jerry Useni as its chairman of the board of trustees, while former minister of state for health, Gabriel Aduku, was appointed as the interim chairman.
In his address, Useni said the new group is similar to the socio-political platforms which various regions use to fight for their interest.
