The youths had protested against the alleged killing of their kinsman, WALERU TASIE by a stranger.
Our correspondent SANDRA KENNETH who witnessed the protest, reports that the Rumuokoro slaughter market area was entirely shut down with all shops closed while tricycle operators around Rumuagholu were stopped from operating.
Chairman of the Youth Association of the Rumuodumaya community, AZUNNA NSIRIM who led the protest accused authorities of refusing to take action against the killing of one of them even after the alleged killer has been arrested by the police.
A brother to the deceased, CHIMENEM ANAYO who joined in the protest also expressed dissatisfaction over how the matter was being handled.
In the meantime; schools around the area were left closed for safety as parents of some students complained over the development
The aggrieved parents spoke to our correspondent IFUNANYA OBEME-NDUKWE.
We gathered that there was a re-enforcement of security to the area and traders have returned to their markets.
