The APC also described as a hoax claims by Governor NYESOM WIKE and the Peoples Democratic Party on the withdrawal of the security aides and an assassination threat.
It is the opinion of the APC that the allegations are meant to deflect attention from arms buildup in the state and other sinister plots the PDP-led state government plans to execute on Election Day.
According to a statement released by the National Secretary of APC, MAI MALA BUNI, the party said nobody is after Governor WIKE.
The APC scribed said the alarm raised by the Governor and his PDP is false, adding that it was based on the impending defeat of the PDP in the legislative rerun elections.
He noted that the PDP and Governor NYESOM WIKE are haunted by their horrible past misdeeds when they used federal institutions to harass, intimidate and threaten the life of perceived political enemies, particularly former governor, CHIBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI.
MAI MALA BUNI noted that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC Administration has successively demonstrated the will to ensure that all elections are free, transparent and credible.
BUNI assured that Saturday’s legislative re-run elections in Rivers will not be different, as the APC-led administration does not subscribe to such evil machinations where government institutions are used to achieve political ends.
The APC national leadership called on security agencies to investigate the report of arms build-up in Rivers State and maintain high alert over the security situation in the state.
