The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has given the Federal Government a seven-day ultimatum to refund workers’ funds allegedly diverted from the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund.
The labour body also demanded the immediate constitution of the Governing Board of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM), warning that failure to comply would trigger a nationwide industrial action.
The resolution was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the NLC Central Working Committee meeting in Abuja, presided over by NLC President Joe Ajaero. The meeting reviewed issues affecting Nigerian workers, the trade union movement, and the country at large.
